Educational stipends have been distributed to poor and meritorious students studying in various educational institutions around Bangladesh. The stipend program is funded by the Educational Charitable and Humanitarian Organization (ECHO) and implemented by AMAN. A total of 285 students were given scholarship checks of taka 3,130,000. The educational stipends were distributed among students at four places across the country. Among them, Taka 1,366,000 were distributed to 99 students in Dinajpur, Taka 611,000 to 96 students in Patuakhali, Taka 856,000 to 66 students in Jessore, and Taka 297,000 to 24 students in Dhaka. The stipend recipients are studying in different universities and backgrounds; Medical, Nursing, Engineering, Diploma Engineering and in Public Universities.
Educational stipends have been provided to poor and meritorious students studying in various educational institutions around Bangladesh. This scholarship is provided in collaboration with Educational Charitable and Humanitarian Organization (ECHO) and implemented by AMAN Bangladesh, a non-governmental development organization. A total of 251 poor & meritorious students were given scholarship checks of taka 27 lakh 52 thousand. The education stipends were distributed among students at four places across the country. Among them, tk 13,65,000 were given to 98 students in Dinajpur, tk 5,86,000 to 94 students in Patuakhali, tk 7,14,000 to 53 students in Jessore, and tk 87000 to 6 students in Dhaka.
While accepting the scholarship check at the event, Md. Ekramul Haque from Dinajpur. Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University said, my father does agriculture on a small amount of land. He has to struggle to pay the educational expense of my three brothers and sisters. I have benefited a lot by getting this cooperation from Echo. This support has facilitated my studies.
Second-year student Mocha: Muslima Khatun from Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College said, my father works as an office assistant in a private school. I had to repeatedly ask my father for money to cover the cost of practical classes in medical education. By getting this scholarship, I don’t have to ask for money from home again and again.
In collaboration with the US-based service organization Association for Mass Advancement Network (AMAN), the voluntary and development organization ECHO has long been providing scholarships to students of various universities, public universities, and medical colleges in the country to facilitate their higher education. AMAN is providing one-time payments to 250 students across the country.
Mahmudur Rahman, a student in the physical education and sports science department of Jessore University of Science and Technology, reminisced and said that his father has to face a lot of hardships to run the family. There, I and my sister are studying at two different universities. I have to take care of my family life along with my studies doing tuition. Echo organization has been giving me a scholarship while studying at Jessore University of Science and Technology. They have facilitated my studies.
Tamanna Tasmeem, a third-year student of Jessore Medical College, said that her father suffered a stroke while teaching in a madrasa. After that my father’s treatment and my studies were interrupted. Echo’s scholarship paved the way for my higher education. I can study well now.
